What the RSVP Form Collects
Each event page has an RSVP form. It asks for:
- your first name and last name;
- your email address;
- your phone number, if you choose to give it (it is optional).
Along with what you type, the form records which event page you used and any campaign tags (UTM parameters) in the link that brought you to the site, such as a tag showing you came from an Instagram post. Those tags tell us how people find the mixers. On their own they do not identify you.
What the Contact Form Collects
The contact form asks for your name, your email address, a topic and your message. It also records the page you sent it from and any campaign tags in your link.
Spam Protection
Both forms include a hidden field that people never see but automated bots tend to fill in, plus automated spam filtering that screens submissions. If a submission looks like spam, it may be forwarded to our web team so they can check it and make sure real messages are not lost. These tools exist to keep junk out, not to profile you.
Information Any Website Receives
Like any website, this one receives the technical details a web server sees when your browser asks for a page: your IP address, browser and device type, the page requested and the time. Our hosting provider uses this to deliver pages, keep the site secure and fix problems. We do not use it to identify you or build a profile of you.
How We Use Your Information
We use RSVP details to run the mixer you signed up for: to know who is coming, to send your confirmation email, and to reach you if something about that event changes or it is canceled. We use contact form details to answer your message. Campaign tags help us see which posts and links bring people to the site.
An RSVP or a message does not sign you up for a newsletter or a marketing list.
Who Handles Your Information
A small number of service providers make the forms work. Each handles your information only to provide its service to us, under its own terms:
- Neon, a hosted Postgres database, stores RSVPs so Adeline can see who is coming to each mixer.
- Resend, a transactional email service, sends your RSVP confirmation and delivers notification emails and contact form messages to Adeline.
- Google hosts Adeline's Gmail inbox at singlesmingleca@gmail.com, so notification emails and your messages are stored there.
- Vercel hosts the website and stores the event photos Adeline uploads.
- Google Analytics measures how visitors use the site, as described under Cookies and Tracking below.
Only Adeline, and our web team when they are fixing a problem or reviewing suspected spam, can see the RSVP list and form messages.
Cookies and Tracking
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how people use it: which pages are visited, how visitors found the site (for example, from an Instagram post or a search), their general area (city or region, not an exact location), the type of device and browser, and actions such as tapping a button or sending an RSVP. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser so it can tell visits apart. It never receives the name, email or phone number you type into the RSVP form. We use these reports only to improve the site and to see which posts and links bring people in.
We do not use advertising cookies, ad pixels or remarketing. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's opt-out add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, and the site will still work.
The only cookie the site sets is a strictly necessary sign-in cookie for the admin area, which is used by Adeline alone. Visitors and guests never receive it.
The site links to our Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Meetup and Eventbrite pages and to venue websites. Those companies may collect information under their own privacy policies once you follow a link, and we do not control that.
Event Photos
Photos from mixers may appear on the site. If you are in one and would like it removed, email singlesmingleca@gmail.com with the page and a short description, and Adeline will review the request.
What We Do Not Do
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. We do not rent or trade it, and we do not hand guest lists to venues, marketers or other businesses for their own use. We share information only with the service providers listed above and when the law requires it.
How Long We Keep It
We keep RSVP and contact form information only as long as we need it to run events and answer messages. When it is no longer useful for that, we delete it. If you ask us to delete your information sooner, we will, apart from anything the law requires us to keep.
Your California Privacy Rights
California privacy law, including the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, gives California residents rights over the personal information a business holds about them. We honor these requests from anyone who asks:
- Right to know. Ask what personal information we hold about you, where it came from, how we use it and who we have shared it with.
- Right to delete. Ask us to delete your personal information, apart from records the law requires us to keep.
- Right to correct. Ask us to fix information about you that is wrong.
- No sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of. If that ever changes, this policy will say so first and explain how to opt out.
We will not treat you differently, or turn away your RSVP, for making any of these requests.
How to Make a Request
Email singlesmingleca@gmail.com, ideally from the address you used on the form, and tell us what you would like. To protect your information, we may ask you to confirm a detail before we act. Someone else can make a request for you if you give them written permission. We will let you know when your request has been handled.
Adults Only
Mixers are for adults, and the site is not meant for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If a child has sent us something, a parent or guardian can ask us to delete it and we will.
Changes to This Policy
If we change what we collect, the tools we use or how we use your information, we will update this page and the date below before the change takes effect. The terms of service cover the other rules for using the site.
