Wine Country Evenings at Darcie Kent and Pruett Farms
The Livermore Valley is one of the oldest wine regions in California, and you feel it the second you drive past the vineyards off I-580. It would have been a shame not to hold a mixer out among the grapes. In June, Singles Mingle set up on "The Terrace" at Darcie Kent Winery. That one was $20 at the door, the only mixer at that price so far, and it made for a summer evening outdoors in the heart of wine country.
Pruett Farms joined the Livermore calendar for October 24, with $10 at the door. A farm is a different kind of setting from a bar, and a change of scenery gives you an easy reason to fall into a chat with the person next to you.
Entry is always paid in person. There is no online payment anywhere on the site. You RSVP free, and if an event lists a fee, you settle it when you arrive.
Rebel Kitchen & Libations and Livermore's LGBTQ+ Mixers
Rebel Kitchen & Libations has been the anchor of the Livermore lineup. Mixers landed there in April and July, and the October 17 date at Rebel was an LGBTQ+ edition. An August LGBTQ+ night was canceled, and the calendar showed it plainly, which is how Adeline handles any change.
LGBTQ+ mixers happen roughly once a month around the Bay. Livermore is on that short list along with San Francisco, Oakland, Berkeley, San Jose, Sunnyvale and Newark. For queer singles in the Tri-Valley, that means a night out close to home without a trip into the city. Read how those nights work on the LGBTQ+ singles mixers page.
Getting to Livermore by ACE, BART or the 580
Most people drive, and I-580 makes that simple from Pleasanton and from the Altamont side. Downtown Livermore is easy to find, with First Street running through the middle and the Bankhead Theater as a handy landmark.
If you would rather leave the car at home, the ACE train stops in Livermore, though it mostly runs commuter hours, so check the schedule before counting on it for a weekend. BART ends at the Pleasanton station, and from there Livermore is a short ride east. Wineries and farms sit outside downtown, so give yourself a few extra minutes and look up the venue address on the event page first.
Close by, Singles Mingle also holds mixers at Cellar Door on the Pleasanton singles events page, and Danville's Barnyard Epicurean Wine Bar has held age-edition mixers.
Coming Alone to a Tri-Valley Mixer
You are welcome to walk in by yourself. Mixers are held at public venues, and you can look for the Singles Mingle host when you arrive and say hi. Nobody rings a bell or moves you to a new table. You usually get a three hour window, like 7:30 to 10:30 PM on a Friday or Saturday at Rebel, or an afternoon slot such as 4 to 7 PM, so you can arrive when you are ready and leave when you like.
Most Livermore nights are 21 & Up, which is the format described on the singles mixers page. RSVP with your name and email, add a phone number only if you want to, and you'll get a confirmation email. That RSVP is how Adeline knows you are coming.
