A Hotel Bar and a Brewery: The Walnut Creek Lineup
Walnut Creek has had two very different venues so far in 2026. The Renaissance Hotel hosted mixers in May and August, and it is back on October 30 for a Halloween Eve night. Headlands Brewery took the June date.
Those two settings suit different moods. A hotel bar feels a little dressed up and easy to settle into for a few hours. A brewery is loose and casual, the kind of place where you end up chatting with whoever is waiting at the taps beside you. Both are public venues, and both keep the focus on real conversation.
Most Walnut Creek nights are free entry and open to everyone 21 & Up. That flagship format is explained in more detail on the singles mixers page.
Halloween Eve at the Renaissance Hotel
Holiday specials are some of the most fun dates on the calendar, and Walnut Creek gets one this fall. The Halloween Eve mixer at the Renaissance Hotel falls on October 30, the night before the San Jose Halloween mixer at Britannia Arms Almaden.
A seasonal night gives everyone an instant conversation starter. You do not need a clever opening line when the whole room already shares a theme. Check the event page for the time window and any details Adeline adds as the date gets closer.
What Happens at Your First Walnut Creek Mixer
Here is what an evening looks like. You RSVP on the event page with your name and email, phone optional, and you'll get a confirmation email. On the night, you walk into the venue, look for the Singles Mingle host, say hi, and start meeting people. That is really it.
Weekend evenings usually run three hours, often 6 to 9 PM or 7 to 10 PM on a Friday or Saturday, and some Sunday mixers run in the afternoon. You can arrive a bit late or leave a bit early. Coming alone is completely fine. This is not speed dating with rotating tables and a bell. It is a relaxed room where you choose who you talk to and for how long.
If you want a crowd closer to your stage of life, the singles events over 35 page lists how the age editions work around the region.
Rolling In on BART, 680 or Highway 24
Walnut Creek is one of the easier East Bay towns to reach. The Walnut Creek BART station is on the Yellow Line, so you can ride straight out from San Francisco, Oakland or Lafayette. The next station, one stop north, is another option if it happens to be closer to the venue.
Drivers have I-680 running north and south through town and Highway 24 coming in from the Caldecott Tunnel side. Downtown, with Broadway Plaza, the Lesher Center for the Arts and Mount Diablo rising in the distance, is the part most people know, but venues are not always downtown, so check the address on the event page.
Close neighbors have their own pages too. Try the Lafayette singles events page for the hotel mixer one BART stop west, or the Concord singles events page for beer garden nights a few miles northeast.
