Almaden, Willow Glen and Downtown on the Mixer Map
Britannia Arms Almaden has been the anchor in south San Jose. The 2026 calendar brought mixers there in April, July and August, and this year's Halloween mixer on October 31 is set for the same pub. Almaden sits at the southern edge of the city, tucked up against the hills around Almaden Quicksilver County Park. It is mostly a driving neighborhood, so plan on Almaden Expressway, Highway 85 or Highway 87 to get there, or a rideshare if you want a second drink.
Willow Glen is the other name that keeps popping up. The neighborhood has a real main street in Lincoln Avenue, with a small-town feel that makes it a nice place to spend an evening. In October the calendar included a mixer at Mimosas in Willow Glen.
Downtown is where plenty of San Jose singles start their night, even when the mixer itself is a few miles out. It is the hub for getting around: Diridon Station brings in Caltrain, ACE and Amtrak's Capitol Corridor, and VTA light rail runs straight through downtown on First and Second Streets. San Pedro Square and the blocks around the SAP Center are easy places to grab dinner before heading over. If a downtown venue joins the calendar, it will appear on this page as soon as it is confirmed.
LGBTQ+ Nights at Mexico Lindo and The Willow Den
San Jose is one of the cities where LGBTQ+ Mixers have found a steady home. Mexico Lindo hosted LGBTQ+ editions in May and July, and The Willow Den held one in August. The Willow Den also hosted regular mixers in June and September, so it has become a familiar room on the South Bay calendar.
These nights run like every other Singles Mingle event. You RSVP free, show up inside the time window, and talk to whoever you like. If you have been meaning to meet more queer singles in the South Bay without starting with a chat window, this is a low-key way to try it. The LGBTQ+ singles mixers page explains how they rotate around the Bay Area.
Your First San Jose Mixer, Start to Finish
Find a date on the events calendar and open the event page. Add your name and email (phone is optional) and you will get a confirmation email. That RSVP is how Adeline knows you are coming.
Most San Jose mixers are free entry. A few editions around the region are $10 at the door, and nothing is ever paid online. The event page always lists any cover.
Expect a window of two to three hours. Friday and Saturday mixers usually run in the evening, something like 7 to 10 PM, while the Sunday LGBTQ+ nights at Mexico Lindo ran 7 to 9 PM.
Coming alone is completely normal. Mixers happen at public venues, and the whole point is to mingle with people you have not met yet. If you want to know what the 21 & Up flagship format looks like, the singles mixers page walks through it.
More South Bay Dates Close to San Jose
When the San Jose calendar is quiet for a week, a neighboring city often is not. Milpitas has hosted mixers at Big Al's in May and August, a quick drive up I-880. Sunnyvale had an LGBTQ+ night at Fuego Night Club in July. Mountain View held an August mixer at the Ameswell Hotel. If you are up for a drive over Highway 17, Santa Cruz had a June mixer at Shanty Shack. The full picture lives on the cities page.
