How a Mixer Week Usually Runs
A typical Singles Mingle night lasts about three hours. On Fridays and Saturdays that usually means an evening window, such as 6 to 9 PM, 7 to 10 PM or 7:30 to 10:30 PM. Sundays tend to start earlier, with windows like 3 to 6 PM, 4 to 7 PM or 5 to 8 PM.
You do not have to arrive at the start. Come when you can, stay as long as you like, and leave when you are ready. There is no program to keep up with, which is a big part of why a mixer feels different from speed dating. Nobody rings a bell. You just talk.
Not every date fits that weekend pattern, so always check the time on the event page.
Danny Murry's Irish Pub Takes Its Turn
San Leandro's mixer is set for November 12 at Danny Murry's Irish Pub. The event page has the start time, the age edition and the entry details. Most mixers are 21 & Up and free to enter. Some editions charge $10, collected when you arrive, and nothing is ever paid online.
An Irish pub is a natural fit for a mixer: a public place where it is easy to walk up to the bar, order something and start a conversation with whoever is next to you. If this is your first time, that is about all the plan you need.
Riding BART to San Leandro
San Leandro has two BART stations. San Leandro station sits near downtown, a short walk from East 14th Street and the city's older commercial blocks. Bay Fair station is farther south, next to the Bayfair Center. Both are on the lines that run north to Oakland and San Francisco and south to Hayward and San Jose.
Drivers have I-880 along the western side of town and I-580 along the hills to the east. Washington Avenue and East 14th Street are the main north and south routes in between. Neighborhoods like Estudillo Estates, Broadmoor, Washington Manor and the Marina area each have their own feel, and the San Leandro Marina shoreline is a pleasant spot for a walk before or after a night out.
Neighbors on Both Sides of Town
If November 12 does not work for you, plenty is happening nearby. Up the road, Oakland United Brewing has run both an age edition and an LGBTQ+ mixer this year, while Mad Oak and Brix Factory Brewing have taken dates too. The Oakland mixers page has the full story, including the July outing to an Oakland Ballers game with free tickets.
To the south, Storybook in Hayward took a September date, and the Hayward mixers page covers how to reach that one and others from the middle of the East Bay. Nearby Alameda has had a mixer at McGee's.
For nights built around a certain age range, see the 35 & Up and 50 & Up mixers. LGBTQ+ singles can follow the monthly lineup on the LGBTQ+ mixers page, and the flagship 21 & Up night is explained on its own page.
